The second-hand marketplace Members Express Anger Over Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
The company said the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
The platform has recommended to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.
Sizing System Modifications
Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.
Required Changes
Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
